Bungee Jumping Ecuador

Imagine yourself shitting your pants while bungee jumping Ecuador in the middle of the Andes mountain range. This was a huge concern for me on Date 372/365 while visiting what was appropriately called Banos (bathroom in Spanish). We rolled into town and hit up one of one zillion tourist companies and went with the first one. Rookie mistake and we should have saved ourselves about 2 bucks on one of the tours. La Posada Del Quinde Otavalo

When you roll into Otavalo it’s difficult to assess whether or not it’s a beautiful town. The time of the year we came was dry, warm, and dusty. We rolled in by bus from Colombia and then took a short taxi to La Posada Del Quinde which again from the outside we were unsure about. We we came in we immediately understood why the hotel itself and the restaurant, Cafe Pachamama, were both on #1 on Tripadvisor’s ranking. Almost immediately we were pulled out very warm hotel lobby and out into a gorgeous garden where beautiful little hummingbirds buzzed through various flora.…

Condor Park Otavalo- Feeding the birdnerd frenzy

A visit to the Condor Park Otavalo gives you the opportunity to see the world’s strongest bird along with a number of owls, hawks, and eagles. Of course if looking at birds in cages or behind bars isn’t your thing Condor Park can still leave the visitor satisfied with their flight demonstrations and personal encounters with Harry’s Hawk, the American eagle, a barn owl, and a few other high flying birds. The bird park itself is full of rescued birds either in illegal captivity or in unsuitable environments. The park doesn’t keep the birds if they are capable of freeing them however after…
