Villa Casuarinas Hotel Cali – A boutique resort at its finest

We arrived in Cali at the Palmira Airport and hopped into a taxi with the driver named Guillermo. There’s a counter at the airport that computes the total cost just by getting the address of your destination so we were reassured that it was completely safe. Guillermo was the most enthusiastic driver and he reassured he knew the place as he, apparently, is the go to airport taxi for the hotel. The Heart of the City- Hotel Casa Galeria

Located in the heart of La Candeleria on the historical Calle del Embudo (Street of the Funnel) is Hotel Casa Galeria, a quaint yellow and purple hotel. We were hosted by Jaenet the owner and heard of her love of history and culture. The hotel is small and intimate and very homey. The brightly painted courtyards had hammocks for relaxing and joined up with a coffee shop at the front. While we passed other rooms towards ours we felt each one had a unique feel to it. Prado 61 Guesthouse a hidden gem in Medellin

We checked into 61 Prado Guesthouse for our last couple nights and were hosted by Lucas and his incredible staff. We were checked in after on a day trip to Guatape and were welcomed by Julie who also cooked our fabulous white sauce chorizo and asparagus pasta on our first night.  Immediately we were charmed by the local neighborhood which was much different than our stay at the more popular El Poblado area.
