Bird Garden Guesthouse- A treat for birders in the city

We came into the Quito and rolled into a quite part of La Mariscal and were happy to have checked into Bird Garden Guesthouse. As beginner birds we were impressed with the bird photography concept of the hotel. There were so many beautiful photos taken by Roberto and Lorena the owners who are both professional national guides. The room we were booked into was #7 and had a nice double bed and an extra large single bed. All of our luggage fit nicely into the huge closet and we had a lot more space than we needed. Villa Casuarinas Hotel Cali – A boutique resort at its finest

We arrived in Cali at the Palmira Airport and hopped into a taxi with the driver named Guillermo. There’s a counter at the airport that computes the total cost just by getting the address of your destination so we were reassured that it was completely safe. Guillermo was the most enthusiastic driver and he reassured he knew the place as he, apparently, is the go to airport taxi for the hotel. I wasn’t sure if he was just saying that but since he mentioned the name of the owner and then a few minutes called the hotel with his own…

The Heart of the City- Hotel Casa Galeria

Located in the heart of La Candeleria on the historical Calle del Embudo (Street of the Funnel) is Hotel Casa Galeria, a quaint yellow and purple hotel. We were hosted by Jaenet the owner and heard of her love of history and culture. The hotel is small and intimate and very homey. The brightly painted courtyards had hammocks for relaxing and joined up with a coffee shop at the front. While we passed other rooms towards ours we felt each one had a unique feel to it.
