Bird Garden Guesthouse- A treat for birders in the city

We came into the Quito and rolled into a quite part of La Mariscal and were happy to have checked into Bird Garden Guesthouse. As beginner birds we were impressed with the bird photography concept of the hotel. There were so many beautiful photos taken by Roberto and Lorena the owners who are both professional national guides. The room we were booked into was #7 and had a nice double bed and an extra large single bed. All of our luggage fit nicely into the huge closet and we had a lot more space than we needed. Condor Park Otavalo- Feeding the birdnerd frenzy

A visit to the Condor Park Otavalo gives you the opportunity to see the world’s strongest bird along with a number of owls, hawks, and eagles. Of course if looking at birds in cages or behind bars isn’t your thing Condor Park can still leave the visitor satisfied with their flight demonstrations and personal encounters with Harry’s Hawk, the American eagle, a barn owl, and a few other high flying birds. Lost in Panama: On the way to the 3 Lost Waterfalls

After being in Boquete for 3 weeks we finally did our first hike though we didn’t get to our desired destination. We were dropped off in front of a group of signs and two different options for our walk/hike. We went up the street towards Sendero Los Quetzales and The 3 Lost Waterfalls (1.2 km). Our goal was the waterfalls. We rolled into a trail and paid a $5 entrance fee to Sendero Agroeco Trail, less frequented than the other hikes nearby. When we got to the first (and only) waterfall we looked for the trail to continue it’s loop……
