After finishing our honeymoon and popping into El Nido for the past few months it’s been tough to get a few days all to ourselves without the stress of starting our own business. Fortunately for us we had the privilege of being hosted by Bohol Beach Club (which we found through Agoda) for a couple of days while we attended our friends’, TJ and Paul’s gorgeous wedding next door! Being forever and a lifetime honeymooners we saw the appeal for romance, luxury and comfort all bundled up on the shoreline of Bohol’s best beach. We absolutely loved this resort and appreciated the privacy, space, and beauty of the rooms and the outdoor space.
Trying to utilize our time away from El Nido we flew in extra early arriving in Bohol at 7:30 am and naturally we didn’t check what time our flight was until the night before. We wer’e worried we might not be able to get an early check-in let alone a super early check-in. We sent a text message to the cell phone number provided by the hotel and within a few minutes, received a reply saying that they would have our room ready for us at 8am.
When we finally rolled in from airport we were quickly checked-in, had our yummy welcome drinks while being escorted to our rooms and settled in before having a delicious breakfast where we were able to meet BBC’s public relations manager, Amabelle. Amabelle gave us a great run down of the history, which was quite interesting to hear considering we are in the early stages of our own hotel business. Quickly after dinner, we found ourselves on the beach swaying on one of the numerous hammocks that lined up with picture perfect palm trees that lined up what we called Palms Boulevard. . There were many guests walking by the beach but it never felt crowded.
In between visits with wedding friends next door and meals, we dipped in the pool and in the ocean. The walk from the beach to the room was filled with birds- sunbirds, swiftlets, doves and a variety of other bird families, oh we wish we had our Birds of the Philippines field guide. Have a close look at any of the bushes on the property and you will likely spot a bird’s nest. Being birdnerds and ametuer birders we could have spent a lot more time bird watching.
We absolutely enjoyed the very accommodating service of their staff. They have a wonderful spread for the breakfast buffet, with breads, pancakes, jams, fruits, fried rice, meats, juices, salads and not to mention the cheese section, which was definitely a treat! We also had a chance to try some of their food for lunch and dinner and we absolutely loved it, from burgers to perfectly cooked calamari, pizza and some other Filipino cuisines. As we head to our room to have a night cap we received nice notes on our bed with a small sweet treat. We truly appreciated our stay at Bohol beach Club and would recommend it for anyone looking to relax and have an absolute slice of paradise.
Bohol is a beautiful province and since this is our 2nd time around we decided to not do any tours as we were happy to stay at our own little beach resort at Bohol Beach Club and fall more in love with each other swinging lazily on a hammock listening to the ocean sounds while being cocooned by the picturesque view in front of us!
*Searching through various websites we found that Agoda had the most competitive rates. For best rates in Bohol Beach Club book via Agoda.com. Yes, we’re big fans of em!
